Early Interventionist - Charleston Office

Hello there! I started my journey towards Early Intervention with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology from Appalachian State University. From there, I learned that what I loved most about my teaching career were the little shining moments where I was able to work with both my student and their guardians in order to support both the child and the family. From there, I took an interim position with the American Red Cross providing crisis relief aid in which I went into the homes of my clients and provided solar powered generators, water filtration systems and basic necessities for families with children and/ or family members living with disabilities. Again, I enjoyed being that support for a family during a time when they needed aid. I then transitioned into the foster care system by working for a year and a half at a children’s home in the mountains of North Carolina as a house parent. My main responsibilities were to provide full time care to 6-9 children all ranging in ability and age. I worked alongside case managers, social workers, therapists and various other crucial figures to ensure development throughout their time in our care whilst advocating for them in regards to their placement wishes. I decided still, though, that I was yearning for more interaction with my child and their familial unit and was so happy to join Bright Start and begin working alongside such a capable and passionate group of people. I am thrilled and excited to work with families; to support in growth, celebrate milestones and share in the journey of development.
