Early Interventionist - Upstate Office
Hi, my name is Kenisha Gist. I am from Woodruff, SC. I graduated from University of South Carolina Upstate, with a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies. I also graduated from Converse University, with a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I have always loved working with children. At the age of 11, I knew that I wanted to work with children when I taught my nephew how to tie his shoes. During college, I worked in the public school system for two years and worked as an after-school counselor for kindergarten students. Right after college, I worked in a preschool setting for years and worked as an Infant, Toddler, and Twos teacher. I also work in the public school system and worked as a Teacher Assistant. I was introduced to Early Intervention through my daughter, Jurnee. She started Early Intervention and Speech Therapy at the age of two and I saw how much she has grown mentionally, physically, cognitively, and emotionally. I saw how Early Intervention has changed my daughter’s life, so I want to help change young children’s lives as well. I am so excited to be starting this new journey and learning, growing, and working with Bright Start.
