Lead Early Interventionist - Charleston Office
Hello! My name is Kelly and I am an Early Interventionist in our Charleston office. Growing up in Michigan close to the Great Lakes I learned at an early age that I love being on the water. I enjoy swimming, skiing and especially sailing. I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and my Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Western Michigan University. Most of my career has been spent as a teacher in both public and charter schools teaching different grades from Pre-Kindergarten to Fourth grade. Having a son on the autism spectrum encouraged me to want to learn everything I could as a parent to help him reach his full potential. I knew that I wanted to work with children with developmental delays or special needs and I began working one on one with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder as a Behavioral Therapist in the school setting. As much as I love working with children, I believe that families are just as important and should be included in children’s learning. I searched for opportunities out of the traditional public-school setting where I could work with children as well as their families as a team. This search led me to early intervention and Bright Start. I am excited to help children and their families reach their goals!
