Early Interventionist - Midlands Office
I graduated with a B.A in Experimental Psychology with a minor in Education from the University of South Carolina in 2016. Over the past several years, I have worked with children and youth in a variety of roles and capacities to include serving as a preschool teacher, ABA therapist, social work intern, and nanny. I have always been passionate about working with children, and as a preschool teacher I felt limited in my role when addressing specific behavioral or developmental concerns with families and caregivers. I believed that my families and students needed more than what I could provide as a teacher, and this began my journey into the field of early intervention. At the heart of early intervention with Bright Start is collaborating and empowering families to play an active role in the intervention process, because we believe that parents and caregivers know what works best for their families. I hope that in my role as an early interventionist with Bright Start, I can support parents and caregivers in learning more about their child's development as well as empower them in advocating for their child's needs. When I am not serving families across the Columbia area, I enjoy reading, playing outside, traveling, and spending quality time with my partner and our two cats.
