Bright Start Celebrates Bright Start Day on May 10th, Honoring Over Two Decades of Service to the Special Needs and Disabilities Community

Columbia, SC – May 10, 2025 – Bright Start, South Carolina’s pioneering private Early Intervention and Case Management company, proudly celebrates Bright Start Day on May 10th, commemorating the moment founders Beth Bunge and Teri Todd were granted the keys to the city of Columbia, SC. Since its establishment in March 1999, Bright Start has remained committed to providing Early Intervention services for children ages birth to 6 and Case Management services spanning from age three through the lifespan—helping individuals and families navigate the challenges of special needs and disabilities with care and expertise.

In 2010, Bright Start expanded its case management services  from the age of 21 through the life span, solidifying its role as a vital resource in the community. Over the years, Bright Start has continuously grown its reach, supporting thousands of families and making significant strides in enhancing services to better meet the needs of those they serve.

This year, Bright Start is taking yet another leap forward in expanding its impact and services. The Case Management program, which has long supported individuals eligible for the IDRD and CS Waivers, is now proud to extend its reach by serving eligible participants in the Head and Spinal Cord Injury Waiver across the state. This expansion marks a crucial step in Bright Start’s mission to provide comprehensive and compassionate support to as many individuals with special needs and disabilities as possible.

In addition to growing its service offerings, Bright Start is leveraging new marketing strategies to enhance accessibility and broaden its reach, ensuring that more families in need can benefit from its expertise and care. As the company continues to evolve, it remains committed to fostering a positive work environment and improving work-life balance for its dedicated team of 130 plus employees—empowering staff to maintain the highest standards of support for the communities they serve.

Through unwavering dedication and innovation, Bright Start remains steadfast in its mission to improve the lives of individuals with special needs and disabilities. As Bright Start Day is celebrated, the company looks toward a future filled with progress, expansion, and continued service to families across South Carolina.
